Cycling in Siegen-Wittgenstein
You’ll be surprised at how the low gradients along many of the routes through our beautiful and varied low mountain range landscape in the Sauerland Rothaargebirge nature park. The Lahntalradweg (Lahn valley cycle trail), for example, gradually takes you downhill from the source of the river, often along asphalt paths, through the river landscape. On the Eder-Radweg (Eder cycle trail), you follow the river and, in addition to the wetlands, you can also enjoy the surrounding beech and pine forests.
Even if you really exert yourself, there’s always a shaded spot to take a rest - after all, this is the most forested region in Germany. Refresh your tired legs and feet in the Eder, Lahn, Sieg and the many clear streams that flow here in this area rich in springs. As varied as the routes are, you’ll nearly always have a view of lush greenery, often with the sound of babbling water in the background!
Our junction system helps you get your bearings and allows you to combine different routes to create your own individual tour. You can switch to the train anywhere and take your bike with you free of charge.
Our certified Bed & Bike hosts will supply you with cycling maps, timetables and a cosy place to spend the night.
Tip: The MTB Siegerland e. V. association shows mountain bike fans tricks and techniques. A loamy highlight: the FlowTrail Siegen takes you through the forest over bumps and jumps.
