Our history
In 1963 Willi Lebershausen together with his wife Hedwig took over the inn "Zur schönen Aussicht" from his parents. After some enlargements the rooms used today were built.
Our hall offers place for approx. 120 persons and is ideal therefore for the adjustment of ceremonies. The restaurant is for 45 persons and our small room for 24 persons is also an inviting room. In spring and summer our beer garden, decorated with many flowers, invites you to stay, it offers place for approx. 60 persons.
Since February 2009 Lars Zimmermann, grandson of Willi and Hedwig, runs the inn. After successfully completing his cooking apprenticeship at the "Schloss Hotel Herborn", Lars moved into the distance. The ambition to work in a gourmet kitchen brought him to Eltville Hattenheim to the restaurant "Kronenschlösschen" (16 points Gault Millau). Here he learned from Mr. Patrik Kimpel how to enchant his guests on a high culinary level. After just under a year, Lars moved on to other European countries. So he worked a winter season in Oberlech am Arlberg/Austria in the hotel "Goldener Berg" (14 points Gault Millau) and a summer season in the hotel "Parc natural" in Alcudia/Mallorca. In 2005 Lars got a job at the "Schloss Hotel Grunewald" in Berlin. From then on he cooked for many German celebrities as well as many international and national actors and musicians. In the summer of 2006 he was part of the German soccer summer fairytale, because during the World Cup the "Schloss Hotel Grunewald" (16 points Gault Millau) was the team hotel of the German national soccer team.
Since June 2007, Lars has been standing at his home stove in Greifenstein and now combines the experience of top gastronomy with the regional cuisine cooked by Grandma Hedwig in a small menu. It is cooked only with fresh products and the change of the menu takes place monthly.
Not only our kitchen was completely renewed in February 2009, but our name has also changed from "Zur schönen Aussicht" to the restaurant "Zur schönen Aussicht". Further renovation measures will follow in the next months and years.
