Hilchenbach view from the Ginsburg

Flying high with the family

2-day tour

Two days off and lots of time for the family! Wonderful!

Day 1 | Starting point

So its off on a hike to the ruins of Ginsburg, which are steeped in myth. The unspoilt heathland enchants both younger and older hikers with soft ground, long grasses and peat moss. With a little luck, you will even spot rare creatures such as the red kite, black woodpecker or black stork. Peace and quiet, magnificent natural surroundings and exciting experiences are what make our completely new “A1 Family Tour” so attractive. The child-friendly four kilometre route leads to high towers and old castle walls, to dense, enchanted forests and adventurous playgrounds. The 154 km

long Rothaarsteig runs right by Ginsburg.

Day 1 | Target 2

Would you like to delve into the world of art? The Kulturbahnhof in Kreuztal draws visitors in from afar with its imposing “Kofferturm” (baggage tower). The “scene change” concept constantly offers small, unusual exhibitions. Be open to surprises!

Day 1 | Target 3

At the end of the day, the trail leads uphill again to the Kindelsberg Tower. Romp around with the children in the forest along the picturesque Kindelsberg trail. Too tired already? Then take the car and just walk the few metres to the tower, then stop off in comfort there. If the weather is good, there is a fantastic panoramic view from high above.

Day 2 | End point

overnight stay

Day 2 | Starting point

After a relaxing night and a delicious breakfast, you and your little darlings can climb to dizzying heights at Siegen’s climbing paradise. Who dares to climb the highest in the boulder hall?

Day 2 | Target 2

Then on to Freudenberg in a good mood to the technology museum. The place clatters and hums, it smells like hot oil and the enormous steam engine hisses! Younger and older explorers experience up close what a Seigerland industrial plant looked like 100 years ago.

Day 2 | End point

A wonderful contrast to this is provided by Alter Flecken, Freudenberg’s world-famous old town with its original timber-framed houses. More that 80 of these black and white gems provide the perfect backdrop for your family holiday snap as a popular

photo motif!
