Bad Berleburg hast six outstanding places
Castle Bad Berleburg is one of them - a sight to behold when it is illuminated at night. Another jewel ist the Wisent-Wilderness - it allows you an insight to a unique conservation project - you can visit the wisents at this pristine area. At the nature reserve (NSG) pit area Hörre slate has been mined since the 16th century. Today the adit system is a perfect home for thousands of bats. As the second highest montain in North-Rhine-Westphalia the Kahle Asten stands out. More than half a million people visit the peak at an altitude of 841 meter. Hurricane Kyrill created another jewel in 2007: The Kyrill-path is a exciting and natural path that shows the elemental force of this storm. Sincere art within the forests can be explored during 25 km on the WaldSkulpturenWeg (ForestSculpture-Path). Eleven renowned artists have created art-hiking-trail which is unique troughout Germany.
