In addition to the tourist information, you can also visit the exciting bison adventure exhibition here. Just as quickly, hikers have become more demanding of the trails, but also of the overall hiking tourism offer of a region or, in the meantime, only of individual places with the associated hiking infrastructure. Today, a comprehensive and up-to-date information system on the trails is expected. The guest wants to get to know a special hiking location.
It is therefore important to recognize unique selling points in one's own hiking destination and to present them to the guest. In particular, catering and accommodation services, but also mobility offers, are almost as important for a successful hiking experience as the trail itself. The availability of regional products is becoming increasingly important. The German Hiking Institute has developed a certificate for premium hiking regions that uses core and optional criteria to guarantee that the region in question offers a comprehensive range of services for hiking guests. Premium hiking regions are the vanguard of hiking. Here, guests are guaranteed a comprehensive hiking experience.
In addition to the hiking regions, more and more individual hiking locations are now emerging that want to offer their guests an outstanding and distinctive hiking experience in a smaller geographical area. The German Hiking Institute now certifies such premium hiking locations comparable to the premium hiking regions. Certification by the German Hiking Institute includes core criteria and elective criteria. The certificate is valid for three years.

Das grüne "i"
Analogous to the red "i" as a reference for the tourist information, the mobile, green "i" supports us directly at the place. The new brand is informative, sustainable and exemplary - and it is everywhere in the landscape where we personally cannot always be. We inform you about regional nature conservation and landscape features, unique biodiversity and local fauna and flora. In addition, we briefly explain the most important rules of conduct for the recreation center "forest".
However, to avoid sign proliferation, we use the green "i" only very deliberately. Currently, you can find the new brand with bundled forest knowledge, for example, at some Waldrast stations and along the fairy tale trail.
