Infotafel zum historischen Grenzverlauf NRW/ Hessen
Die schon seit 1607 bestehende Grenze zwischen Nassau-Dillenburg und Nassau-Siegen wurde 1816 infolge der Verhandlungen auf dem Wiener Kongress (1815) im Bereich der Wasserscheide über die "Haincher Höhe" und die "Kalteiche" neu gezogen. Hierfür wurde 1835 erstmals die Grenze mit Grenzsteinen durch den Geometer Schüler aus Straßebersbach vermessen und nummeriert.
Mit der Übernahme des Herzogtums Nassau durch das Königreich Preußen am 03. Oktober 1866 war nunmehr beiderseits die Grenze preußisch.
Seit 1946 ist dies die Landesgrenze zwischen Nordrhein-Westfalen und Hessen.
