An der Sonnenberger "Rötsche", die früher von den Kindern und Jugendlichen Ferndorfs als Skipiste (!) genutzt wurde, befindet sich neben einer Vesperinsel eine wunderschöne Schutzhütte, die von Mitgliedern der Leichtathletik-Abteilung des TuS Ferndorf hier mit Unterstützung der Stadt Kreuztal aufgestellt wurde. Die Leichtathleten haben hier in liebevoller Arbeit ein herrliches Kleinod geschaffen, das dem Kindelsbergpfad einen besonderen Wert verleiht. Die Hütte ist für jeden Wanderer ein einladender Ort zur Rast oder als Schutz vor Wetterunbilden. Man genießt von hier einen beeindruckenden Ausblick zum Kindelsberg.
