The approximately 7 km long circular hiking trail runs southwest of the Wilnsdorf district of Wilgersdorf.

A route with many small highlights that are both natural and cultural as well as scenic: Kalteiche, Miners' Monument, Goldschmiedsborn spring, Grube Neue Hoffnung nature reserve.

Directions

We leave our starting point heading west and reach the Miners' Monument above the youth education center. From there, we continue over Hemmersberg and further south to Kalteiche, the highest point of the municipality of Wilnsdorf. We continue on to Hirschstein and leave the historic border towards Wilgersdorf heading north. After a short time, we turn left towards the Grube Neue Hoffnung nature reserve, which we reach shortly thereafter. The Goldschmiedsborn spring, located in the almost 4-hectare nature reserve, is suitable for a brief rest. Shortly before the end of our route, we get a view of the mine site, which provides an important habitat for numerous heat- and drought-loving animal species as well as for a variety of protected plants.

Along the K25 from Wilnsdorf to Wilgersdorf up to the CVJM Youth Education Center

Along the B54 from Haiger to Wilnsdorf up to Hirschstein

Free parking is available in the area of the youth education center and at the edge of the nature reserve as well as at the Hirschstein hiking car park.
