Directions
- We leave our starting point heading west and reach the Miners' Monument above the youth education center. From there, we continue over Hemmersberg and further south to Kalteiche, the highest point of the municipality of Wilnsdorf. We continue on to Hirschstein and leave the historic border towards Wilgersdorf heading north. After a short time, we turn left towards the Grube Neue Hoffnung nature reserve, which we reach shortly thereafter. The Goldschmiedsborn spring, located in the almost 4-hectare nature reserve, is suitable for a brief rest. Shortly before the end of our route, we get a view of the mine site, which provides an important habitat for numerous heat- and drought-loving animal species as well as for a variety of protected plants.
