**Getting there**Coming from Hilchenbach, follow the L713 (Ferndorfstraße) through the districts of Hadem, Helberhausen, and Oberndorf.

At the left-turn priority road (towards Heinsberg) is the Oberndorfer Höhe hiking parking lot. Helmut’s Rothaarhütte is located directly on the road.
