The Altenberg & Stahlberg Association e.V. has established an educational trail in cooperation with the Kreuztal Citizens' Foundation and the cities of Kreuztal and Hilchenbach. At 15 stations, visitors to the site learn everything about the life and work, the techniques and the history of mining in this region.

Directions & Parking facilities
By car coming from Hilchenbach and Kreuztal via the B 508 to Dahlbruch. Then turn towards Müsen and follow the road beyond the exit of Müsen, uphill to the mountain summit. There you will find the Altenberg excavation site.
Note: Car access is closed in the winter months. No winter service from the Müsen exit.
