Burbach
We are “stone rich”, as they say in German. The “great stone”, surrounded by huge, mature trees, is shrouded in legend, while the “Wildweiberhäuschen” (“wild women’s hut”) rocks are an impressive sight, and the “Trödelsteine” made of cooled magma are wonderful to behold. The streams burble along in a romantic way when the water breaks against the stones. In Burbach, a “stone will fall from your heart”, as they say!

Hike along the Rothaarsteig path, our certified “Trödelstein” path, the “literature in nature” hiking highlight, with its seven audio stations, or along one of the marked local routes. Cycle through the villages or through the Buchhellertal valley. Feel like some adrenaline? Try parachuting at the Siegerland airfield.
Afterwards, you can relax with culture in the Heimhof Theatre and the “Alte Schule” at Holzhausen, or depending on the season, at the museum festival with craft market, the classical open-air “Roman concert” or the “Burbacher Lichtzauber” (“Burbach magic lights”) Christmas market. In the winter, you can look forward to skiing and snow.

Wie schön, dass der Weg wieder restauriert wurde. Super gekennzeichnet. Vielen Dank dafür! Jetzt im Frühjahr wirkt der Kahlschlag nicht mehr so schlimm, außerdem gibt es viele neue Aussichten.

Schön, dass es hauptsächlich über schmale Pfade geht. Sehr gut ausgeschildert. Aber leider, wie fast im gesamten Siegerland, führt der Weg mittlerweile zu 3/4 über Kahlschlagsflächen, was besonders zu dieser Jahreszeit sehr trostlos wirkt.
Möglicherweise kann im Frühjahr blühender Ginster das etwas schöner erscheinen lassen.

Die Tour hat uns aufgrund des hohen Pfadanteils und wegen der schönen Aussicht von den Trödelsteinen sehr gut gefallen. Allerdings muss man unserer Meinung nach ein Pünktchen abziehen wegen der enormen Rodungen. Dennoch empfehlenswert!
