Varied landscapes, beautiful views and a unique flora characterize this circular hiking route. Part of the route is walked parallel to the Rothaarsteig audio trail Gernsdorfer Weidekämpe.

Directions

We leave our starting point and walk south to reach the A8. We turn right and continue towards the town center. Passing the church, we proceed towards Halmberg. We cross the L722 and find ourselves in the middle of the Gernsdorfer Weidekämpe nature reserve, which we walk through. Along the path, at some stations of the Gernsdorfer Weidekämpe audio trail, we can learn a lot about the nature reserve and its special features. Afterwards, the route leads us further to the Rothaarsteig, a well-known long-distance hiking trail. After a few meters, we leave it again and continue along the Henneberg back towards our starting point.
