Coming from Hilchenbach, follow the L713 (Ferndorfstraße) through the districts of Hadem, Helberhausen, and Oberndorf.
At the left-turn priority road (towards Heinsberg) is the Oberndorfer Höhe hiking parking lot. Helmut’s Rothaarhütte is located directly on the road.
Free parking is available at the Oberndorfer Höhe parking lot.
The start points Oberndorfer Höhe in Hilchenbach and Zinse in Erndtebrück are not served by public transport.
