With machine-laid trails with circular routes 2.5 km, 3.5 km, 5 and 7 km long, the trails vary at altitudes of 660 to 720 meters. The trails can be entered above the ski hut on the Steinert and at the Albrechtsplatz car park; both places can be reached by car, and there is a bus stop at Albrechtsplatz.
The signs indicating maximum ascent and descent gradients correspond to the German skiing association norm.
At the weekend, stop by at the Ski-Club Girkhausen e.V. ski hut after your tour and warm up with a hot drink. In the middle of the outdoors, up on the Steinert, you can experience a ski hut like those in the Alps, with a unique atmosphere.

Due to the covid pandemic the DSV-Nordic-Active-Center is closed. Therefore please bear in mind that you will not find sanitary facilities in this area.
In wintry weather and when the trails have been laid, the hut is open on Saturdays and Sundays from around 10am to 4pm.

Ski shoes, ski sticks and cross-country skis are available for hire for anyone interested in cross-country skiing.
Shoes are available in sizes 32 to 46, with sticks from one meter to 1.60 m. Cross-country skis are offered in lengths of 1.40 m to 1.90 m.
One day of snow fun costs €15.00, all-inclusive. A voluntary cross-country trail ticket is available at €4.00 in the ski hut or at the Bad Berleburg tourist information centre.
