Der Stollen wurde im Jahr 2006 freigelegt und der Eingangsbereich neu gestaltet.
Erwähnt wurden die Brüche bereits im Jahre 1789 und daraus wurde Sandstein unter anderem für die Öfen geliefert. In früheren Jahren wurde der Sandstein im Tagebau abgebaut, mit zunehmender Tiefe gab es Schwierigkeiten durch Grund-, Regenwasser und EInsturzgefahr, daher entschloss man die Sandsteinbank, die durch Stollenvortrieb angefahren und abgebaut werden konnte.
Im Jahre 1881 betrug die gesamte Förderung rund 60 Tonnen.
