Location Bad Berleburg - View to Berleburg Castle

Castle Berleburg has been inhabited by the Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg family for more than 750 years. This "being alive" gives its special character. A guided tour of the castle provides an insight into the banqueting halls, the great hall, the chapel and some private chambers.

The long history of the Princely House, its attachment to the region and its commitment to the country and its people are the hallmarks of the noble family. Visitors from Denmark in particular have enjoyed staying there since Princess Benedikte, the younger sister of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, has been living in the castle through her marriage to Richard zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg. The ambience also provides a stylish setting for concerts. During Advent and Christmas, the estate attracts several thousand visitors to Bad Berleburg.

In addition to the orangery, Berleburg Castle also has a beautiful castle park. The centuries-old trees, the beautiful circular path and the large ponds invite you to linger. Feeding the ducks is a particular delight for young visitors.
