If you like beautiful views and prefer a light hike with many resting options, this route is just ideal. Through the Ferndorf valley, it goes from Hilchenbach to Helberhausen. Through the brook into a tranquil valley gently uphill to Vormwald and over Vormwald with views of Hilchenbach enjoyably back to Hilchenbach.

Directions
Starting from Hilchenbach marketplace, we first walk on the spoon path (trail marker L in a circle) and the meadow edge path to Helberhausen. A rest at the waterwheel in the village center is very cozy. It now goes uphill through the brook until we reach the Rothaarsteig access path. We then return to the right via the farm roads. The view of Vormwald and Hilchenbach accompanies us. Many benches invite you to rest. The reading bench in Vormwald is a special point on our hike. The last section to Hilchenbach is quite steep; in wintery weather, the path via Vormwald street is recommended. Back at the marketplace, gastronomic establishments invite you to stop by.
