Beautiful circular route with a short steep ascent, lovely views, and some sections along the Lahn hiking trail.

The "Herzwege" originated in the spa area of Bad Laasphe. They represented modern health training within the holistic consideration of body, mind, and soul and served as movement therapy and relaxation training through hiking in various difficulty levels. The classification was based on the steepness conditions and provides the following orientation: Green = gentle slope / Blue = moderate slope / Red = steep slope on short sections. The paths are not typical long hiking trails but rather short scenic walking routes that encourage everyone to compensate for lack of exercise.

Directions

From Wilhelmsplatz, keep right and walk along Haus des Gastes to Brückenstraße. At the end, this crosses the railway tracks and then a gentle ascent begins until you reach the spa park area. Here, keep right and walk above the small lake past a fenced garden plot on the left. Shortly after, a meadow path turns left; follow it slightly uphill until it goes straight between horse, sheep, and cow pastures offering fantastic views over Bad Laasphe. At the end, turn right and walk briskly uphill to the next junction, which leads straight ahead again on the right. Here you pass a fountain where thermal water was once drilled and a rest hut where a short stop is worthwhile. Follow this path until it meets a main hiking trail, which you turn right on downhill to the next hairpin bend. Here keep right again and you are back in the spa park. From here, take the same way back to the starting point.
