GOOD LUCK!
The Association for Siegerland Mining e.V. (VSB) carried out various projects between 2005 and 2016 to preserve relics of Siegerland mining in the city area of Siegen and on the Eisernhardt. Some adits of the old mines were uncovered and equipped with a new, also nature conservation-compliant development at the mine entrance area. The work was based on templates from the 19th century to make the adit entrances as authentic as possible. After completing the work, these mines were incorporated into a circular hiking route. In the light version of the circular hiking route, the hiker receives information on 10 panels about the topics of Siegerland mining from the old times. For well over 2000 years, iron ore as well as valuable non-ferrous metal ores were mined and smelted in the Eisernhardt area. The traces of mining are still visible at many points of the 482-meter-high mountain. Where the ore veins broke through to the surface were the oldest mines. We would like to guide you to these places.

Directions
That this was a home of mining is shown by numerous stations made tangible along the circular trail through the preservation efforts of the VSB.
Besides numerous authentically reconstructed adit entrances based on templates from the 19th century, called "Mundlöcher" in miner's language, the path leads to a reconstructed hoisting shaft, a mine shaft where the ore was transported to the surface using a cable winch (hoist), and to a boundary stone, the traditional marker that indicated the property limits of the mines. Signs and information panels provide exciting background information and thematic insights.
