Directions
You reach the town of Bad Berleburg by train; bringing bicycles is free of charge. First, you should plan some time for a stroll through Bad Berleburg including a visit to Berleburg Castle. Then you start toward Hilchenbach. Via Schlossstraße you ride in the direction of Raumland. There you leave the road to the right towards Berghausen, at the end of which you turn left towards Altmühlbachtal K47 and then again left towards Birkefehl and Birkelbach. In the center of Birkelbach, keep left and ride to Womelsdorf and further to Erndtebrück. At the roundabout you follow the road to Benfe, which brings you to Eisenstraße. There, turning right, you pass Forsthaus Hohenroth. Time for a relaxed break at the red deer enclosure or at Café Waldland (open on weekends and public holidays). Now it goes back to Lützel and over Gillerbergstraße into the Ginsberger Heide nature reserve. The Giller Tower at the top of the mountain should definitely be climbed; the view from there is fantastic. Now it finally goes only downhill. Another stop at the Ginsburg, which can be visited from dawn until dusk. This view is also wonderful and should definitely be planned in. Via Vormwald Station you follow the bike path signs over Vormwald back to Hilchenbach. In the town center, numerous gastronomic establishments invite you to a well-deserved meal.
