- Start: Starting point is the information board at the Volksbank on Sieg-Lahn-Straße
- Destination: The destination point is the information board at the Volksbank on Sieg-Lahn-Straße again
The hiking trail leads from the information board at the Volksbank over the street "Im großen Hof" to the oldest house in Feudingen and the old bakehouse with an adjacent green area with a resting bench. Over the street "In den Weiherhöfen" it goes past the outdoor swimming pool and community hall, over the Kalterbacher Lahn bridge to the Vesper island (green area with seating set, information board, and hiking parking lot).
We then continue, always following the hiking trail F8, a short steep ascent with impressively beautiful views over the Lahn and Auerbach valleys, up to Mackelshelle. Once again, it goes briefly steeply left up where the entrance portal to the "Avenue of the Trees of the Year" welcomes us. Then it goes along the slope with only a slight ascent. On this path, accompanied by various trees with their information boards, we again enjoy beautiful views of Feudingen and the Lahn valley. Here we also find the Rothaarsteig rose planted on the occasion of the inauguration of the certified Rothaarsteig route "Ilsetalpfad." Furthermore, an especially long bench invites you to linger and enjoy. Afterwards, it continues through a high forest heavily thinned by windthrow. At a left curve, a short detour to the "Old Sports Ground," later also called the "Fairy Tale Meadow," can be made. The path continues until we meet the path leading downhill to the "Boden." Here we also leave the Ilsetalpfad, which is identical to our hiking trail F8 starting at the information board on the Vesper island. Over the "Boden," a type of high plain now used as grassland lying below the "Hohe Ley" and above the "Sasselberg" with a small hill, we continue always following F8 downhill. This path again opens a wonderful view of Feudingen and the Lahn valley towards Feudingerhütte and Bermershausen from a different perspective. We return to our starting point via the streets "Am Sasselberg," "Zum Ilsetal," and "Im großen Hof" to the information board at the Volksbank on Sieg-Lahn-Straße.
