Siegen's jogger meeting point, running track for beginners and competitive runners. Illuminated in darkness and cleared of snow in winter: this is the Sieg Arena on the edge of the city centre.

The completely flat running track along the Sieg has long become a highlight for runners of all performance and age groups. The asphalted 2.2 kilometre loop (markings every 100 metres and signs every 500 metres) between Siegen's Eintracht and Eiserfeld is equally suitable for beginners and competitive runners. In summer, you run on the inner-city track along many green trees almost like in a forest area – the Sieg, whose Celtic name incidentally means "fast river," makes the loop especially attractive. The great special feature: thanks to a runners' initiative, the loop is fully illuminated in the evening hours during the dark season and even cleared of snow and ice in winter. Whether early in the morning or late in the evening, you are rarely alone on this running route – anyone who wants can find a running partner here at any time. Those who once lose motivation can get new encouragement here through many running sayings attached to signs at the top of the lampposts.

The track was developed by the regional running portal "Laufen 57", Frank Steinseifer

Directions

The starting point of the route is the parking lot (ample free spaces) under the HTS in Siegen's Eintracht at Stumme-Loch-Weg. The running route begins behind the Sieg bridge at the start sign, then leads counterclockwise towards Eiserfeld downstream. After 1,000 metres, turn left over the second Sieg bridge back to the starting point. Those who want to run a longer loop can extend the route along Marienhütte to the turnaround at the Bauking parking lot in Eiserfeld and then run back to Eintracht (4.4 km).
