L5 - Local hiking trail Bad Laasphe "Rote Hardt and Litzelbach valley"

The circular route starts in the town centre at the House of the Guest and leads over side streets up to Lehrberg, from where it then breaks off into the forest above the cemetery. From here it steadily ascends, sometimes more or less steeply. You pass the former forester's house "Hirtsgrund", shortly afterwards a bench above a large meadow invites you to a short scenic rest. After a short, steep climb you reach a plateau that, due to windthrow, offers beautiful views of the Puderbach valley. At the next intersection, turn sharply right and from here the path leads constantly downhill through coniferous and beech forests. After a while, there is an idyllic pond on the left side, which still belongs to the forester's house. Unfortunately, it is private property and access is not allowed. But a short rest is definitely worthwhile; in summer the lake is covered with water lilies and at the right time you can observe thousands of small tadpoles at the water's edge. Shortly afterwards you reach the Litzelbach forester's house, which is still in use as a forester's house. Here you leave the forest and follow an asphalt path that steeply rises to the right over the legendary Gallows Hill back to Bad Laasphe.

No special equipment is required, sturdy footwear and provisions should be taken along.

By car to the town centre of Bad Laasphe (Wilhelmsplatz).

At the Litzelbach forester's house you can buy delicious honey and sometimes fresh game! Just ring the bell and ask...
