Natural winding paths and forest roads, which repeatedly offer wonderful views, sometimes lead off the usual routes to the summit of the Entenberg. The Lahn-Facette offers contrasts. Infinitely wide views over the Wittgenstein mountain range, enchanted paths, cozy resting places, tough ascents. You are rewarded with an impressive summit view on the Entenberg. With some luck, you can experience the takeoff of the paragliders who glide down into the valley from here. The tour is appealing at any time of year; in early summer, it presents itself in a purple sea of foxgloves, in autumn the colorful leaf forest rustles, and in the cold season you experience your own winter fairy tale. Whenever, a cozy finish in the regional gastronomy in the adjoining historic half-timbered old town is a wonderful conclusion to this worthwhile (dream) route.

Directions
The start of the circular route is at Wilhelmplatz in Bad Laasphe. From here, it goes along the Haus des Gastes, past the herb garden (a visit is worth it!) over Brückenstraße towards the Kurpark. The Lahn is crossed via the old railway bridge (on the left side you can see the inflow of the Laasphe stream into the Lahn). The paved path leads into the Kurpark, which is certainly worth a small detour, but since the path also returns here, you can save this for the return journey and review the impressions on the many cozy seating areas by the pond.
After leaving the pond on the right side, the paved path shortly turns into a forest path, which turns sharply left after about 100 m. After a short gentle climb, you leave the main hiking trail here and follow the signposted Lahn-Facette to the left onto a side path. At the end of this short section, the first small resting place with shelter and seating facilities opens up to take a short break and enjoy the first great view of the town of Lahn. But the climb is not yet over; from here it goes right over a path steeply uphill, crossing the Lahn hiking trail, and the Lahn-Facette winds further uphill as a path before turning right and winding as a natural path through the Buhlberg.
A bit of surefootedness is required until you reach the end of the path after a downhill hairpin bend, where you land on a paved path that leads slightly uphill again on the left. At the end of the path covered with fir needles, it continues uphill to the left; this is especially beautiful in early summer because the forest is dotted with red foxglove plants. A short meadow path runs briefly level before turning left again over a forest road for another short stretch uphill. After the well-deserved altitude meters, you reach the Hugo Kracht Hut, which invites you to rest and offers covered seating. After a refreshment, it continues relatively level at first, and the effort of climbing passages begins to pay off. It feels a bit like a high plateau, from which wide views open up on the left over the Wittgenstein mountain range and on the right over the Hessian uplands. Shortly afterwards, you need to gather your last reserves of strength for the final climb to the Entenberg. Once at the top, you know the effort was worthwhile — a wonderful view opens up over Niederlaasphe, Puderbach, and on the right over the upper Lahn valley towards Hesse as well as the reservoir in Breidenstein. A entry in the summit book goes without saying...
Even if you would like to stay up here, at some point it is time for the descent, which leads back towards Bad Laasphe on a wide path. The deforestation caused by the bark beetle plague has also cleared large areas here. Now you still have an unobstructed view of the Wittgenstein and Hessian mountain landscapes. At the bottom, it goes quite level for a while on the left, always with beautiful views on the right.
At the next fork, turn right onto the slightly descending path before continuing left via a path back. Passing the shooting range, you now have the last meters of the hike in front of you, which finds a nice conclusion here on a broom-covered path and leads onto a wonderful scenic meadow path.
From here, it is up to everyone to take a short detour into the Kurpark or to head straight into town to enjoy a successful conclusion to an eventful (dream) route in the local gastronomy.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
Entry in the summit book on the Entenberg.
At the summit of the Entenberg is one of the stamp stations of the Lahn hiking trail. Those with a stamp pass can get their stamp here. This is also the launch site for paragliders; if you are lucky, you can watch a live takeoff and see the gliders glide into the valley.
The early bird catches... the most beautiful moments! Early risers, (hobby) photographers, and anyone who loves the special are recommended to start so they can experience the sunrise from the Entenberg (walking time from the start point to the summit approx. 1 - 1.5 hours). It is worth it if the weather cooperates!
