Directions
It starts idyllically along the "Puderbach" and later along a meadow path toward Bad Laasphe. At the first large intersection, turn right to cross the L903 country road. On the road, a short stretch to the left and then immediately right uphill. Between two pastures, we turn right again and then walk towards the Litzelbach forester's lodge. The old forester's lodge is still inhabited by the forester today and lies idyllically at the edge of the forest, surrounded by old fruit trees, many animals and regional products like honey and game, which you can buy here on request. From here, the forest path initially steadily ascends; to the right we pass an old pond (especially worth seeing during the water lily bloom), which, however, belongs to the forester's lodge. Once the first slope is conquered, the path forks and we keep right, continuing slightly uphill. At the end of the path another fork is reached, and we go left uphill; shortly after, the Myth and Legend trail meets our path and runs parallel to our path through beautiful beech forest for a while. At the foot of a meadow, we reach a seating area that invites you to rest and have a picnic after the altitude meters are now done. Here the Myth and Legend trail leaves us in a western direction; we continue straight along the P/P1 and circumvent the Hainrot. At the next fork, turning left (against the signage) leads shortly after to a less easily recognizable track slightly uphill. Following this, you soon reach a plateau offering a fantastic panoramic view of the entire surrounding mountain world.Â
The return is via the same path, and the access path must be briefly retraced to the last intersection to follow the P1/P again. They run briefly north before taking a sharp left and then shortly after a right turn, meeting a large intersection above the Kirschköpfchen.Â
From here, the P no longer runs parallel to P1 but we follow the signposting P/P2, which, if we keep going, will let us experience the only summit cross in the Wittgenstein mountain region on the Puderburg.
We reach the Kirschköpfchen and with it open wide views again. To the L903 road junction, it goes relatively flat through further beech forest for recovery. We reach the federal road and follow it a short uphill stretch, cross it, and then walk along the Hessian border toward Puderburg. We walk a good stretch on Hessian territory here; only shortly before the Puderburg do we reach Wittgenstein again. Several border stones mark the border areas. A detour to the summit is a must. Admittedly, the ascent is not easy, and several altitude meters must be climbed via a winding path. Some sure-footedness, especially for the descent, should be present! Here you find a very special atmosphere. Like driftwood on the sea, bleached deadwood lies here as remnants of the immense deforestation caused by bark beetle infestation. As sad as the bark beetle plague is for our nature, the deforestation has provided insanely beautiful views. And nature is reclaiming the fallow areas. Especially in May/June, there is a sea of yellow broom here, followed by purple foxglove. Those who choose this path will be rewarded with great pictures. At the summit, you find the only summit cross in the district. The bench underneath invites you to enjoy and rest - the perfect place for a well-deserved picnic. You hardly want to leave here and cannot get enough of the adjoining Hessian and Wittgenstein mountain world. After a somewhat challenging downhill, the forest path winds steadily down back to the starting point, again and again with great views and a colorful quarry almost at the end of the path.Â

Safety guidelines
We recommend sturdy footwear and possibly sun protection, as some sections run without shade due to deforestation. The ascent to Puderburg is steep for our latitudes. Especially when descending, sure-footedness is required.Â
