Even the name of the path is meant to make clear that the route is "stone-rich" in some places. Another play on words can also be derived in reference to the village of Richstein.

Directions
We begin our hike on the circular "Stone-rich" route at the local history house in Richstein, Unterm Hain. On the paved street, we walk towards the fire pond and also towards the state road L903. We first keep left. At the next junction, the path first continues to the right, then follows the left side of the L903 for about 300 meters. Then we keep right and follow the steeply ascending service road. We follow the path until we reach a junction with three paths.
At the junction, we take the right path to the next junction, turn left first and about 100 meters later turn right uphill again. We follow this path for about 1.2 kilometers, then make a sharp right turn. From this spot, we have a magnificent view into the Eder valley: from Schwarzenau over Beddelhausen to Hatzfeld.
Passing a covered resting bench, we hike towards "Kalmbracht" and have the opportunity to admire the wonderful nature on a bench. We follow our hiking sign and reach a junction after about 1.5 kilometers. We follow the right service road. At the next junction, we take the second path from the right and follow this towards Hohenstift. Here, a short detour to the Hohenstift is possible: The 200-meter-long, steep ascent is rewarded with a fantastic view in several directions.
We follow our hiking trail to the left below the Hohenstift and take the left service road at the next junction. After a few hundred meters, we meet the "Richsteig" hiking trail at a junction. Both route sections lead together into the village center of Richstein. We walk past the fire station towards the cemetery and castle. Those who want to skip the somewhat steep climb to Burgberg keep left directly above the green area on the right side and now follow the forest nature trail back to the local history house.
Those who want to climb up to the castle will be rewarded not only with a great view but also with information about the village's history.

Additional information
Richstein: The first documented mention of the village dates back to 1384. A look at the village reveals its particularly distinctive character: Dominating is the steeply rising Burgberg to the west at 490 meters, with remains of the ruins, today a festival site and hiking destination offering very beautiful views of the forested surroundings. The valleys of the Richstein stream as well as the tributary Großwiesen and Padersbäche are also scenically attractive. The rural village picture is mainly shaped by part-time agricultural businesses. Richstein offers its guests cozy and familial comfort. The 300-inhabitant village enables wonderful nature experiences with well-marked hiking trails.
