Over about 850 meters, you can dive into different themed areas: carved raccoons climb on tree trunks and mingle with other "forest animals." Yoda welcomes you in the "Star Wars" chapter, and the trio "mouse, elephant, and duck" takes you to the area of "cartoon and comic heroes."
The lovingly crafted sculptures were all made by Georg-Wilhelm Weller from beetle wood – always from a single trunk. The retiree spends about two days in his workshop working on a new creation. Georg-Wilhelm Weller initially just wanted to make his grandchildren happy with the wooden figures. What began with a saw, hammer, and chisel has now become an art project with true craftsmanship love. And today, not only the grandchildren are happy, but many hikers admire the wooden art.
Whether a family outing, Sunday stroll, or spontaneous stop: the Wooden Sculpture Path is definitely worth a visit – and will surely awaken one or two childhood memories.
The path is a passion project and continues to grow bit by bit. If you want to support the whole thing, feel free to donate a small amount. At the sculpture of the little mole "Pauli," there is a donation box.
