A popular themed walk for all culture-interested visitors to Bad Laasphe – or those who want to become one...

Funded by the NRW state competition "Ab in die Mitte", nationally and internationally renowned artists were invited in 2000 and 2012 to two sculpture symposia, whose works are connected with the already existing sculptures and the historic townscape.

The artworks created from metal, wood, stone or brick have meanwhile become an attraction for all art-interested visitors to Bad Laasphe and can be viewed as part of a "sculpture walk" lasting about 2 hours.

1 - Johannes Löffelmann (Kneipp columns)

2- Ludger Krause-Sparmann and Jan-Willem Beeren (mushroom forest)

3- Wolfgang Kreutter (bronze sculpture)

4- Johannes Dröge (sandstone sculpture)

5- Franz Stähler (destroyed by vandalism / bronze plaque)

6- Michael Le Grand (suggested heart)

7- Hamish Horsley (slate/greywacke)

8- Prof. Helmut Schepp (bronze sculpture)

9- Tae Mori (filigree wheels)

10- Thomas Vinson (river walk)

All interested visitors can pick up a German- or English-language flyer at the tourist info in the Haus des Gastes with descriptions of the artworks as well as the sketched map.

Directions

The route starts in the town centre at Wilhelmsplatz and leads through the herb garden via the city park to Mühlenstraße. Here you cross the Lahn over the wooden bridge and walk along Buchwiesenstraße to the railway crossing, which you cross. From here the path winds gently uphill, take the first left and walk towards the spa park, which you cross. Afterwards, head back towards the town centre via Brückenstraße. At the intersection of Lahnstraße, turn right and walk to the elementary school. From there, follow the same way back until you turn right into Königstraße, where you can wonderfully follow the "river walk."
